Searching for your perfect venue can be a very daunting and stressful task as there are so many ideas out there for you to choose from. Obviously this will depend on your individual style as to what venues you are drawn to, but make sure that you keep an open mind and have a look at a variety of venue options. If you and your partner are very inventive and creative then you might want to look at a venue that will allow you to add your own style and personality onto it, such as a barn location, or somewhere industrial that has a blank canvas. Alternatively if you are looking for something unique that will wow your guests as well, then there are plenty of locations to choose from.
Think about what represents you as a couple
The first thing to think about when you are looking for a venue is to think about what represents you as a couple, as your wedding day is all about you. You could use inspiration from your hobbies, interests or perhaps stories of things that you have both done as a couple. You could also consider having a celebrant if you want to get married in a really unique place, such as a beach or secluded forest location. The list really is endless if you are having a celebrant as you are not confined to the usual limitations that come with registrars.
Incorporate your interests
If you both like travelling then you may want to incorporate this into your wedding venue, you could look at some unique places such as getting married under a waterfall or on top of a mountain! Remember to keep your options open when it comes to the country as well, if you like travelling then you could go all out and get married abroad. If you are both active people then you might want to include this into your venue somehow, perhaps you could decorate a skate park, or a gym location!
Barn and DIY venues
Barn venues have become increasingly popular over the last few years, and there is definitely an abundance of these venues all around the UK for you to choose from. Many of these will be similar, it will just depend on any limitations that the venue has in terms of decorations etc that may sway your decision. If you want to be really creative then you will need to choose a barn that allows this flexibility.
There are a lot of DIY venues who provide a completely blank canvas for you to do as you wish, such as gallery spaces or some industrial locations. These tend to be in cities rather than rural locations so you will need to bear this in mind when thinking about where to get married. If you both love going to festivals then there are lots of venues that provide outside areas that can be made into a festival style wedding. These also provide great locations for boho themed weddings as well.
